Our Story
He was impossible to shop for — which is why she decided to, quite literally, build him a gift.
She ordered a brick figure in his likeness: the messy hair, the hoodie he always wore, the lopsided grin. Then she spent an evening clicking tiny blocks together, following the instructions with the concentration of a bomb-disposal expert.
When he opened it, he didn’t laugh. He just stared at the little block-person, then back at her, then at the little block-person again. “That’s… that’s me,” he said, genuinely moved.
“Yeah,” she said. “I made you.”
There’s something about building a gift with your hands that changes its meaning. It’s not just something you bought — it’s something you made, block by block, because the person was worth the time. And that’s a gift nobody else in the world could give.
