Our Story
The music box sat on the dresser, and every night before bed, she wound it — three slow turns, then the melody, soft and tinny and somehow perfect.
Inside the glass, her favorite photo of them floated, lit from below, glowing like a tiny lantern. Snow, or something like it, drifted down whenever the music played. She’d watch it, chin in her hand, for longer than she’d ever admit.
“I feel like a kid again,” she told him once. “But the good kind of kid. The kind who believes in magic.”
That’s the whole trick of a snow globe, isn’t it? It shrinks an entire feeling down to something you can hold — a photograph, a song, a little storm of light you can shake back to life whenever the world gets ordinary. Give her a piece of magic for the dresser. She’ll never stop winding it.
